These Terms & Conditions apply to the purchase of goods by you (the Customer or you). We are Coolcontacts of Apt 30024, Chynoweth House, Trevissome Park, Truro, TR4 8UN with an email address cs@coolcontacts.co.uk and UK mobile contact number 07400 107527, (the Supplier/us or we). These are the terms on which we sell goods to you. By ordering any goods, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. You will be asked to agree to these Terms & Conditions by clicking on the check box marked ‘I agree with the terms and conditions and I have a valid prescription for contact lenses’ before placing an order on our website. If you do not accept the check box, you will not be able to place an order. You can only purchase contact lenses and other goods on our website if you are eligible to enter into a contract and are at least 16 years old.

At coolcontacts we take the health of your eyes very seriously therefore we need you to confirm that you understand and agree to the following terms and conditions that apply to the purchase of contact lenses.

 

1: That your contact lens specification has been issued within the last 12 months of your order. Your sight test (different to a contact lens prescription) for glasses must be in date as well.

2: Your replacement lenses will be supplied according to the details given by you and that coolcontacts will trust that this information is the correct and valid contact lens specification provided by a qualified optician.

3: That you give us consent to contact your optician to verify your prescription details or obtaining a duplicate copy of your prescription if the need arises. This would also apply when reordering your lenses as an up to date check-up is a requirement by law thus whatever advice your optician concludes with regards your prescription as well as when your next check will be due, we need to take that into consideration.

Sometimes your optician may cover you for an annual check-up if you’re a regular wearer of lenses. Sometimes every 2 years if you’re an occasional user. Sometimes a regular check is required in order to monitor certain eye conditions. Whatever the reason, we need to abide by it so to avoid the risk in compromising the health of your eyes.

4: That you are successfully wearing contact lenses whose specification matches that of the contact lenses being ordered.

5: That you have not suffered from any eye condition requiring treatment and have not been advised to stop wearing contact lenses by your optician since the issue of your previous specification. You must inform us of your ocular health. We also reserve the right not to supply lenses if this is the case unless we get the all clear from the same optician or another registered optician.

6: Coolcontacts will accept no responsibility if you lack suitability to wear contact lenses or if in risk of your ocular health as detailed in your specification and we retain the right not to supply contact lenses. We also retain the right not to supply contact lenses if your order does not match your actual specification.

7: That you fully understand that contact lenses must be properly cleaned, properly maintained and used in strict conformance with the manufacturer’s instructions and under the instructions or advice provided by your optician. Failure to follow instructions for cleaning and care of your lenses could result in the risk of eye infections and compromising your vision.

8: That you understand that contact lenses are for your personal use only and must not be shared with anyone under any circumstance. By sharing, can result in the transfer of micro-organisms that can seriously damage the health of your eyes, infection or loss of vision.

9: That you will not sleep with your contact lenses unless specified by the manufacturer and that you have been tested and checked thoroughly by your optician that your eyes are suitable to sleep with extended wear lenses.

10: That you will not wear your contact lenses for a period longer than advised by your optician.

11: If you experience pain, watering, redness, vision change, photophobia (light sensitivity) whilst wearing contact lenses, remove them immediately and consult your optician or go straight to A&E (Accident and Emergency).

12: We accept no liability for injury or damage to eyes due to an incorrect order placed by you nor the improper care of your lenses.

Contact Lenses & Solutions/Eye drops

The description of goods is as set out in the website and/or social media. Description is as accurate as is at the time of adding and images are for illustrative purposes only and there may be small discrepancies in the size and colour of these goods from the manufacturer from time to time.

 

Personal Information

We retain and use all information strictly under the Privacy Policy. We may contact you using e-mail or other electronic communication methods and you expressly agree to this.

 

Sale Of Goods

The order process is set out on the website and is easy to follow. Each step allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting. It is your responsibility to check that this has been done correctly.

We reserve the right to refuse to sell products if we are of the knowledge that you are re-selling.

We also have the right to control how much quantity you order. This is all depending on your prescription validity and what’s been recommended by your optician.

We reserve the right to refuse the supply of lenses if we believe there is a health risk outlined by your optician and also if the prescription does not match as in your specification provided by your optician.

The description of goods in our website does not automatically form a contract to sell the goods. After an order has been submitted, we can reject it for any reason, although we will try to tell you the reason without delay.

A contract will be formed for the sale of goods ordered only when you receive an email from us confirming the order. Please inform us of any errors in the confirmation immediately. We are not responsible for any errors or inaccuracies in your order although we at coolcontacts will do our best to confirm your order too.

 

Making a Payment

All prices and charges are inclusive of VAT at the rate applicable at the time of order. Price of goods and delivery charges is that set out on the website at the date of the order or such other price as we may agree in writing. You must pay by submitting your credit or debit card details with your order before delivery of goods.

Delivery

There may be circumstances outside of our control where for example there is a delay for delivery via the postal company. We will remedy the circumstance to the best of our ability and we will be in touch with you whether you prefer to continue or cancel the contract.

You agree we may deliver goods in instalments if we suffer shortage of stock or due to packaging and logistic reasons without incurring extra charges to yourself.

If you or your nominee fail to take delivery of goods at the delivery location, we may charge the reasonable costs for redelivery. Goods will become your responsibility from the completion of delivery. Please examine goods where reasonably practicable before accepting them.

At present we only offer a standard delivery option via royal mail. The average time for delivery is up to 5 working days in the UK. For Republic Of Ireland, it’s up to 7 working days. We will offer other options in the future should this arise. Working days are Monday to Friday. Weekends and bank holidays are not considered working days.

Cancellations & Returns

Coolcontacts will issue a full refund or replace your contact lenses where:

Reason 1: The contact lenses you received was the wrong specification

Reason 2: The contact lenses received are damaged or faulty

Reason 3: The item/s are returned by Royal Mail back to Coolcontacts and marked as undelivered

Reason 4: You would like to withdraw or cancel your order with us for whatever reason.

You bear the return postage costs for Reason 4. Please note for cancellations made after lenses have been dispatched, you will have to bear the return postage costs.

Please provide proof of postage after returning items so that we can also refund this also to you (Reason 1 and 2 only). We may refuse to accept future orders from those who have made previous claims for non-delivery of goods

You must return all item/s in its original packaging, unused and undamaged within 21 days with your delivery note/invoice

A full refund is provided once we receive the item/s to the original debit/credit card or other method of payment used like PayPal.

All refunds will be made within 1 week after receiving item/s

If items received are damaged or has not arrived from Royal Mail, you need to sign a claims form from Royal mail before we replace the items or refund you.

So, Here is What You Do

1: Please provide your name/address/telephone and reason for the return to the following email address:  cs@coolcontacts.co.uk   

2: We will provide you with our returns address based in Redbridge Essex.

3: Please return items via recorded delivery.

4: Goods must be returned within 21 days of your communication with us.

Other Conditions

Coolcontacts will not take responsibility for any false information you provide in order to purchase your contact lenses, whether it be your prescription or contact lens type. We also do not take responsibility of the mistake you make in selecting the prescription or lens type on our website.

We pride ourselves in taking this approach for the safety of your eyes and to minimise further possible complications. Please note non-contact lens products such as eye drops and/or accessories does not require verification as this can be ordered as normal.

We will not dispatch your lenses until details have been verified and full payment has been made. Until then the goods remain the property of coolcontacts.

If there is an error of pricing/offer on our website, we will not be bound to fulfil that. This will be revoked.

We will take all steps to protect personal details, however we will not take liability for unauthorised theft of data.

We reserve the right to withdraw and make changes to the services provided. We are not responsible or liable if the website is unavailable or not working at any given time.

Registration for first time users is NOT essential before placing an order. Registration is simple and you can benefit for any subsequent order after you just login using your details. You can also edit your details thereafter.

By placing an order through our website, you allow us to process your details and affirm all information is true and accurate.

For discount codes, only one can be used at a time.

 

Privacy

Coolcontacts respects your privacy and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation with regards to your personal information. We are the data controller of the personal data we process in providing goods to you. We will comply with our obligations imposed by the data protection laws. We will only process personal data for the purposes of the sale of goods and for communication with you. We fully respect your rights with regards to your personal data.
